On stage, computer rock duo, Baboon Torture Division play music to entertain, but when these musicians leave the stage and jam something entirely different happens. Much of this album was recorded out of the studio. Some of the recording locations include a sewer, a train tunnel, an abandoned freeway underpass, a 6 story stairwell, and at The Cobalt Motor Inn. The instruments they play are circuit bent toys, junk drums, a Jew's harp, a strobe light, breaking glass, the handmade wooden horns of Mr. Fire Man, pounding the steel beams of a massive cantilever bridge, electromagnetic phenomena caused by computer devices, as well as Steve Biloba's artificially unintelligent virtual instruments. Joining the band are local musicians, Mr. Fireman, Conswaillo, Elton Bong, MoustacheMan, Shavondra Brickhouse, The Burrow Owl, and Racketball, and unwilling guest musicians including Janet Jackson, Snoop Doggy Dog, Randy Newman, Tila Tequila, Busdriver, and Master P to name a few. You will hear schizophrenic avalanches of sounds, tranquil meditations, sorrowful wailing, and cathartic junk metal tantrums. As a gift to their fans, Baboon Torture Division is releasing this album be on their web site for free. Click any of the tracks below to preview. Download what you like. | |||
